Since 2005, I've been using Gmail. I have to say that it has changed my life. I don't waste my time with Spam anymore. I can find my emails easily anywhere. But, I think it could be better.
I come up with an amazing idea some days ago, at least for me. I receive about 30 emails a day, if I spend one minute on each, I waste 30 minutes of my day. After a month 900 minutes and in one year 10800 minutes that correspond to one week just checking email!
The question is. Do I have time to deal with all them. Obviously the answer is NO! So, Why don't Gmail developers implement a new feature that classifies useful and useless emails automatically for me?
The feature would be similar to spam filter, but it would be customized for each person. OK! I've studied AI; thus, I know that I will have to "teach" the classifier. But I don't mind doing this for some months. I just want, after some reasonable period of trainning time, to login and deal with the useful emails. When I have time I can read the useless emails.
For example, everybody has friends or members of the family that send that kind of "lovely" emails with friendship, ecological or whatever "be a better person for the world" messages. Sometimes I have time to read, to answer them, and even to think about its message. But most of the time, I don't. These emails are not spam. But I want them separated from the useful emails. That's why I'm suggesting this new feature.
Also, this feature would improve Gmail ad system since it opens the opportunity to know the users better. I hope one day a Gmail developer can read and implement it. Or they can have this idea by themselves.
